LYNX advised Starlight

LYNX provided comprehensive legal advisory services to Starlight, part of NextEnergy Group, in connection with the development and subsequent sale to Enlight Renewable Energy of three standalone battery energy storage system (BESS) projects in Romania, with a combined capacity of almost 200 MW.

LYNX advised Starlight throughout the development of the projects, providing legal support on key development and regulatory matters, and subsequently assisted the company throughout the sale process, including in relation to the legal due diligence, negotiation of the transaction documents, and signing and closing of the transaction.

The transaction marks an important milestone for Starlight, as the projects are the first developed by the company outside the UK and Italy from inception through to ready-to-build stage and successfully brought to sale.

The transaction further reflects the continued development of Romania’s energy storage market and the increasing role of BESS projects in supporting the country’s energy transition and integration of renewable generation.
